Some may decide to buy a new guitar but can not make decision which one he should buy. In this article, we are going to discuss the differences between playing acoustic guitar and electric guitar. We will also include the brands of both guitars here.
1 Electric guitar is easier to learn. This is because there are many techniques available for you to select and use. You can use the electric guitar component to help you create the sound you want.

2 Electric guitar has softer strings. The strings are also smaller. Therefore, it is easier to play. In addition, you can bend electric guitar strings easier than acoustic guitar’s.

3 Electric guitar can be easily recorded. You can connect the line from the amplifier to your recorder. This can be done at home or at the studio.

4 Electric guitar has more sound possibilities. You can use effect pedals to modify your sound quality.

5 Electric guitar need amplifier. This may be the weak point of electric guitar. The guitar itself does not give enough sound volume without amplifier.

6 Acoustic guitar has sound hole in the body to create enough sound. Therefore, your sound quality depends on the quality of the wood which the body is used to make.

7 Acoustic guitar has thicker strings. The strings can be made either by steel or nylon. Both will need more callous fingers to play than the electric guitar.

Famous brands of electric guitar include Ibanez, Fender, ESP, Jackson, Gibson, Schecter, epiphone, Dean, B.C. Rich, music man, and Washburn.

Meanwhile, the famous brands of acoustic guitar are Alvarez, Taylor, Fender, Yamaha, Gibson, Martin, Ovation, Cordoba, Ramirez, ibanez, Hill, Alvarez, and la patrie.

Learn to Play Like a Pro

One of the problems I had when I started learning acoustic guitar was that I did not know how to strum the guitar correctly. It was very difficult for me although many others said it was easy. I tried that for many weeks until I know how to do it. I am going to give you the technique here on this article.

Here is what you are going to do in order to strum the guitar. Firstly get your song book first. Unless you can remember your song by heart, you are going to need one. Then, follow the steps for each individual practice including:

Down Stroke

  1. Sit on the chair with the guitar on your lap. Place the lower curve of the guitar on your right knee, if you are right handed.
  2. Relax both hands.
  3. Place the right hand over the guitar body. Use your thumb or pick touch the first string ( lower E string).
  4. Do the same with every string. Now you are going to count the rhythm. Use your foot to tab on the floor. Count 1-2-3-4
  5. Hold the C Am F and G7 with your left hand. Use the down stroke each time your foot tab the floor. Make sure that you do it in pace. Do not slow down if you can not hold your chord well. Still make stroke although your left hand does not function well. You can correct it later. One think to remember is that you will need to keep the pace consistent.
  6. When you are good at it. Start to apply this to your favorite song by changing the chords to the ones that match the song.
  7. I know that this style of easy strumming may be boring and not so elegance. However, this basic style will teach you to go match your rhythm with the song. After that, you will be able to adapt your strumming style to be more vibrant.

Tried this until you can change your chord without looking at your left hand and your pace does not change while playing. Then we can move to more advanced strumming later.

Firstly, you will need to know the note for each empty sting. Here are the notes respectively:

6th string: E
5th string: A
4th string: D
3rd string: G
2nd string: B
1st string: E

Here are how to tune the guitar:

1. Use guitar tuner pipe: The tuner pipe can be blown and makes sound equivalent to the right note of each empty string. After hearing the sound, you can tune each string of your guitar to match the sound. Repeat the process until you finish the whole six strings. The price of the pipe is around 4-12 dollars. You can find it in the guitar shop store.

2. Use electronic tuner: This can be a little bit expensive. It may not be necessary since you are a beginner.
3. Use online guitar tuner: There are several place you can get the tuner for free. Here is one of the source Free Guitar Tuner. You can just download the program and run it. Tune your guitar strings the same way you do with other methods.
4. If you do not have any tuner, you can tune the sound with the piano or harmonica. Just make sure that the notes are correct.
5. Actually, if you don’t have anything, you just tune it at your free will. Just start from the sixth string then move on forward. Choose any level of tightness you want with the string. Once you are happy with it, move forward until you finish the first string. This method can be done if you are going to play the guitar alone. But if you start to play with others, you will need to tune your guitar to the standard notes by applying above tuning methods.

I hope the method is clear for you. Let me know if you have any query.

Fast track to be a guitar pro.

It is not difficult to change the guitar strings by yourself. If you are a woman who has never touched any instrument, do not be afraid of it. It may look intimidating but it is actually pretty easy. We are going to talk about the steps to change acoustic guitar strings here in this article.

1. Look at what type of the guitar you are having. Is it a classic guitar or folk guitar? You will need to know that so that you can buy the right type of the strings. Classic guitar uses nylon strings while folk guitar uses metal strings. In addition, the bridge and the turning pegs are a little different between the two. That doesn’t matter. They are quite similar though.
2. Remove the old strings. This can be done by loosen all the strings by turning the pegs until your strings are very loose. Then you can remove the bridge pins and take the strings out if your guitar is a folk guitar. For a classic guitar, you will need to untie the strings at the bridge. It is not difficult. All you need to do is notice how the strings are tied and untie them.
3. Clean the fingerboards and body parts new the guitar hole. This is a good chance to clean it since there is no string to be your obstacle.
4. Get the new strings. Carefully take them out of the package one by one. To avoid mixing them up. Do not take out the new one unless the first one has already been installed.
5. Start putting on the sixth strings. Start at the bridge first and then move on to the turning peg. After that you come back to put on the fifth strings and so on.
6. Now you can have your strings replaced.

I have here enclosed the VDOs on how to change your acoustic guitar strings so that you can get more information.
